Design Services for Chatham Homeowners
Chatham sets a high bar, and we design to it. Our work here runs from the antique houses and shingle-style homes in and around Chatham Village and Shore Road, through North Chatham and Chatham Port, out along Old Harbor and toward the Monomoy side, and across the South Chatham neighborhoods.
Chatham clients tend to care about the details that get skipped elsewhere, and rightly so. Inset doors rather than overlay. Furniture-style islands with turned or tapered legs. Full-height panelling on exposed cabinet ends. Integrated appliance panels so the refrigerator does not announce itself. Cabinetry that carries a consistent reveal down a long run in a house where the walls were framed by hand. Those are all design decisions, and they get drawn and specified rather than left to the installer to sort out.
The other Chatham constant is the exterior. Many properties sit in or near the historic business district or in areas where changes visible from the street are reviewed, and a lot of houses take direct weather off the water. That affects both the approval schedule and the hardware and finish specifications. Our design office and showroom is in North Eastham, about thirty minutes up Route 6, and Vern Hatt handles Chatham design work personally.
